Dr. Claudia Aguirre is a neuroscientist and mind-body expert, specializing in the connection between the brain and the skin. She is an LA native and graduate from UCLA and USC, with a doctorate in Neuroscience. She has trained at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) and continues her studies in neuroscience, mindfulness and cutaneous psycho-neuro-immunology.
She has traveled the world lecturing on a variety of topics, from beauty and skincare to artificial intelligence and longevity. Dr. Aguirre is a TEDx speaker, a TED Ed educator and international advisor in the health and wellness industries.
Dr. Francesca Cheung, MD CCFP FCFP, is a family physician practising in disorders of the skin. She has a Focused Practice Designation in Dermatology issued from the Ontario Medical Association and recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. She received the Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the Department of Dermatology, Cardiff University.
She is practising at the Lynde Institute for Dermatology in Markham, Ontario. In addition to providing direct patient care, she acts as a sub-investigator in multiple clinical studies in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, onychomycosis, vitiligo and acne vulgaris etc. She also serves as the dermatological consultant at several local nursing homes.
Dr. Joël Claveau is a dermatologist, specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of Melanoma and Skin Cancers, and an Associate Professor with the Department of Medicine at Laval University where he completed his Medical Study and Internal Medicine training. He did his residency in Dermatology at McGill University and subsequently worked at the Melanoma Clinic at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of a number of Medical Societies including the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Dermoscopy Society. He has received awards including
Honorary Member of La Société Française de Dermatologie, the Dermatologist’s Volunteer Award of the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) for his work on the prevention of skin cancers and the CDA
Symposium of the year at two occasions (Dermoscopy).
Since 1996, he has been the Director of the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Clinic at Le Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, and worked in
Public Health for the province of Québec especially on the new Tanning Bed Legislation. He participated to the publication of papers in peer-review journals including work on melanoma, skin cancers and sunscreens. He is actively involved in a various Continuing Medical Education events and investigator in many clinical trials on advanced and metastatic melanoma.
Dr. Donovan is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in the treatment of hair loss. He received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2004. His post-graduate clinical training in Dermatology and PhD studies in molecular biology were conducted at the University of Toronto. He practices in Whistler, Canada.
Dr. Gooderham is a well-established Dermatologist and serves as Medical Director at the SKiN Centre for Dermatology and the Principal Investigator for the SKiN Research Centre.
Dr. Gooderham received her MD from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, and then completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Toronto in 2004. Prior to training in medicine, Dr. Gooderham obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University in Kingston in 1992, and earned a Masters of Science degree from the University of Guelph in 1995.
Currently, Dr. Gooderham is an Assistant Professor at Queens University, and also works as a Consultant Physician at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC). She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Vice President of the Dermatology Association of Ontario. Actively involved in teaching, Dr. Gooderham provides medical students, medical residents, nurse practitioners, and physicians with both didactic lectures and hands-on clinical training.
Dr. Joslyn Kirby is a Professor of Dermatology at Penn State Hershey and President of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation. In clinic and through her research, she is focused on hidradenitis suppurativa, including its effects on people and outcome measurement.
Dr. Lepping is essentially a clinical psychiatrist who publishes research and works as a Liaison Consultant Psychiatrist in Wrexham, Wales. He was brought up in Germany where he went to University in Münster (Westphalia), and he decided to study medicine after his positive experiences working as an auxiliary nurse as part of his national service (instead of joining the army).
Dr. Lepping moved to Britain in 1995 and did his postgraduate psychiatric education in and around Liverpool. Dr. Lepping has always had an interest in the interphase between psychiatry and medicine and obtained accreditation as an adult and a liaison psychiatrist in 2004. He received a Masters in Medical Ethics from Liverpool University in 2003 and won several research prizes.
Dr. Lepping’s first consultant job took him to Wales as a community psychiatrist for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), where he covered a catchment area of 24,000 adults in Wrexham, including some of the most deprived areas in Wales. He developed specialist clinics for adults with ADHD in Wrexham, as well as a clinic for delusional infestation with the School of Tropical Medicine in Liverpool, which he runs with Prof B Squire. Dr. Lepping is an international expert on delusional infestation. Since 2017 he has been working as a liaison psychiatrist in the Wrexham Maelor Hospital, working with patients with mental illness on medical and surgical wards. His clinical inspiration is to work with his team to make a positive difference in the lives of those who suffer from severe mental illness.
Dr. Lepping’s research interests include delusional infestation, coercion, violence and aggression, clinical ethics, capacity, ADHD, systematic reviews, and various other projects. Dr. Lepping has conducted many international comparison studies between various countries in the field of coercion, and has contributed to a number of books and published over 150 articles, correspondences and abstracts.
Dr. Tomi Mitchell is a Board-Certified Family Physician and Wellness & Performance Coach. Dr. Mitchell is an experienced, personable clinician with over ten years of experience providing client-focused, community-based, and hospital care, who is also a parent and an entrepreneur who understands the competing demands of family and work.
From personal experience and collective work experience, Dr. Mitchell sees how many life problems are rooted in mental wellness and our mindset and is passionate about fitness and recognize our mental health is essential.
Dr. Jennifer A. Upitis completed her Honours Bachelor of Life Science’s at Queen’s University. She then went on to graduate with Distinction from University of Alberta Medical School in Edmonton, Alberta. After completing a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta, Dr. Upitis obtained a Diplomate Degree in Dermatology from Harvard University.
During this time she received specialized training from internationally renowned scholars in the fields of medical dermatology, cosmetic and laser techniques and aesthetic medicine. She regularly attends numerous courses, seminars and conferences in order to keep abreast of the newest advances in dermatological surgery, laser treatments, medical and cosmetic technology.
As well, Dr Upitis has a Focused Practice Designation in Dermatology as recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association.
Dr. Upitis works exclusively as an associate at the Toronto Dermatology Centre.
Dr. Chen is a board-certified dermatologist by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Canada, and by the American Board of Dermatology in the United States.
She received her Honours B.Arts Sc. and MD from McMaster University. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Toronto and served as chief resident in her final year.
Dr. Chen is a lecturer at the University of Toronto.
